About this paste

A creamy, smoky and comforting paste, created by Shalet and Babitha from their experiments with restaurant flavours. Tomato, onion, ginger, garlic, paprika and kasuri methi give it a recognisable tikka masala flavour, familiar but authentic.

Ingredients

Tomato, onion, ginger, garlic, coriander, cumin, paprika, kasuri methi (fenugreek leaf), garam masala, coconut oil, mustard.

Allergens

Contains: mustard (EU-recognised allergen). Free from: gluten, nuts, peanuts, dairy, eggs, soy. Prepared in a kitchen that also processes mustard.

Dietary status

How to prepare

  1. Heat 1 tsp oil in a pan over medium heat.
  2. Add the full pouch of basha. curry paste (150g). Cook for 1–2 minutes.
  3. Add 1 kg meat, fish or vegetables. Stir well.
  4. Add 100–200 ml coconut milk or cream for a richer sauce.
  5. Cook for 15–20 minutes. Done.
Preparation time: approx. 20–30 minutes. Serves 4.

Shelf life

Unopened: minimum 12 months at room temperature. After opening: refrigerate and use within 2 weeks.
